Scene 1
Michael
runs through the cemetery. It’s dark, cold and silent. He pauses when Chloe
comes into view standing beside a grave.

Michael:

(Heavy breathing)
You’re here…

Chloe:
|
(Smirks) Well you
knew I would be…
|
|
Michael:
|
Why did you…?
(Defeated) You knew I would protect you (pause) I love you.

Scene 2 -
Flashback
Detective Michael Ray arrives at scene of
the crime. Two police officers are already there inspecting the dead body which
is lying face down upon the ground with blood surrounding his body.

PO1:
|
(Nods at Michael)
Detective Ray.
|

Michael:
|
Good Morning
Ladies, what have you got for me this morning?
(Snaps on gloves as he walks towards the dead body) |
|
PO2:
|
Murder Sir.
Standard Tuesday morning.
|
|
(Michael inspects
crime scene)
|
|
|
Michael:
|
Any ID found on
the body?
|
|
PO1:
|
His wallet… (PO1
pulls out wallet and then an ID card) Name, Mr Lucas Arden. Age, 45.
|
|
Michael:
|
Okay then,
(stands from body and steps away) try to find and contact any relatives he
might have. Any witnesses known?
|
|
PO2:
|
No sir.
|
|
Michael:
|
Any murder
weapons found?
|
|
PO1:
|
No sir.
|
|
Michael:
|
(Starts walking
away from crime scene) Well then, best start looking…
|
Scene 3
No dialogue. Shot of lady walking, focus on
her body. Lady pauses, bends down to look at the newspaper she mistakenly
stepped upon. Shot focuses upon the newspaper. The camera pans back to the
lady, she smirks, her finger slowly circling the name of ‘Detective Michael
Ray’ that is shown within the news article.
Scene 4
Michael leaves the police station, with
Chloe lurking outside. Chloe sees Michael leave and walks towards him.

Chloe:
|
Hey, you got a
light?
|
|
Michael:
|
Sure, sweetheart
(lights up the cigarette for Chloe )
|
|
Chloe:
|
Thanks Mr…?
|

Michael:
|
Detective Ray,
Michael Ray. How about you?
|

Chloe:
|
(Mocking) It’s
Knowles, Serena Knowles.
|
|
Michael:
|
(Laughs) You’re
feisty, I like it!

Chloe:

So detective,
what’s a girl got to do to get a drink around here?

Scene 5
Montage of relationship between Michael and
Chloe – ‘Serena’.
Scene 6
Michael and Chloe are in a bedroom, Chloe
walks into the bathroom, with Michael lounging on the bed.

Chloe:
|
Mike, can you get
me my hairbrush please. It’s in the drawer.
|
|
Michael:
|
Yeah sure… (Moves
from bed, and rummages around in a drawer.)
It’s not in here
darlin’.
|
|
Chloe:
|
Try the second
drawer…
|
|
Michael:
|
(Searches drawer,
come across a bag. Michael looks inside the bag, where he sees a gun, a
wedding ring and a letter. Michael shocked at what he sees, grabs his clothes
scattered across the floor and flees the bedroom.)

|
Chloe:
|
Mike…? (Chloe
leaves bathroom and walks into bedroom. She sees the open drawer and realises
what has happened). (Screams) Son of a bitch!

Scene 7 –
Flashback ends

Michael:
|
(Heavy breathing)
You’re here…
|
|
Chloe:
|
(Smirks) Well you
knew I would be…
|
|
Michael:
|
Why did you…?
(Defeated) You knew I would protect you (pause) I love you.

Chloe:
|
I can’t trust
you.
|
|
Michael:
|
I can help you,
we can run away together.
|
|
Chloe:
|
I don’t need your
help… Don’t you see this was all a game.
|
|
Michael:
|
You don’t mean
that you love me.
|
|
Chloe:
|
(Laughs) Oh
Michael… Sweet, innocent Michael… This was never about love, love won’t buy
me a new fur coat.

Michael:
|
Is that all it
comes down to (pause) money?

|
Chloe:
|
Of course, and
dear hubby paid the price for that.

Michael:
|
No, I don’t
believe you
|

Chloe:

Believe this…
(Chloe shoots Michael. Michael drops to the floor. Michael is dead.)
