Film Poster Planning

Institutions and Production:-

For our Film Noir movie, we have decided to use to partnering film institutions, entitles 'New Cinema' and well renowned Institution 'Warner Bro's'. After researching various film labels previously, we all felt Warner Bro's would be a suitable institution for our moive - due to its past history of producing Film Noir movies. We also wanted to use a partnering institution, called 'New Cinema' as we felt....

As a group we have decided to split up individually and create a series of 3 different posters to advertise our film. Here is the first draft of poster number 1. This poster will consist of both lead Characters.
Poster 2 and 3 are to depict Detective Michael Ray and Chloe Adler seperately. This allows the spotlight/focus to be put on each character, allowing their identities to come across to the audience in the form of a poster.

As i have already created the individual character profile posters, i thought it may be more appropriate instead of create a duo shot of both characters together for my third official film poster, it may be interesing to create 2 promo posters. A promo poster is a poster that is released before the official poster. This acts as a teaser, gaining interest and speculation around the upcoming film.

After doing some basic research on Film Posters, i came across a great example depicting the idea of 'Promo Posters'. The series of posters, not only focus og every individuaal character, but also experiments with different layouts, shot types, content etc. The film in question is 'Toy Story 3'. Here are a few of the examples:-

My Promo Posters:-

To keep an air of ambiguity, I felt it was appropriate to use arty shots of the couple.
The aim of his excersise (create multiple forms of poster) allows each poster to reach out to a variety of audiences, for example, these posters below may attract an audience who prefer o view romantic films (suggested by the couple holding hands and the subheading including the word, love).
The bottom poster may attract an audience who are big fans of the Noir Genre itself, as the black and white, artistic shot suggets.
Both Promo posters do not reveal the release date of the film, using only the slogan, 'coming soon' the mystery and uncertainty behind this intrigues viewers who will hopefully stay connected and keep an eye out for the information which will be released 'soon'.
The posters use only the title of the film, an intriging slogan to hint at themes present in the film, as well as film institutions and age restrictions (basic info). The posters reveal no actors names, directors names or any other information, saving this for the final reveal on the official upcoming posters.
